iPhone 8 concept

iPhone 8’s curved screen will be ‘gentler’ than Galaxy S7 Edge

According to an anonymous souece ‘family with the design’,  the iPhone 8 will include a curved screen OLED display.

However, it will be ‘gentler’ than the one found on Samsung’s flagship smartphones, due to concerns about making covers that can sit on top of the screen.

This latest tidbit flies in the face of rumours, which suggested Apple isn’t opting for a curved screen and will instead stick with the 2.5D design found on existing iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models.

The rumour mill has latched onto Apple’s display plans in recent weeks, most likely because it’s the last part of Apple’s plans to finalised.

The California-based tech giant is widely expected to use an all–new, all-glass design for its tenth anniversary iPhone, along with a dual lens camera and home button–free layout.

Apple has refused to comment on the reports. The company is expected to reveal a new range of iPads as soon as next week, although any news about its iPhone plans is likely to stay under wraps for much of 2017.
