For all the wrong reasons, Samsung’s latest phablet has been all over the news as of late.  Compare to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810, you may think it had overheating issues; well, think again because the Note7 has been quite literally exploding around the world. That’s exactly why if you are in Canada and own a Galaxy Note7, you should return it for a safe unit as soon as possible by clicking here.

Samsung’s beautifully-crafted phablet – the phone that seemed like Samsung’s masterpiece – what you’ve seen it everywhere, is being recalled due to battery issues. And the dangerous sort at that. Note7 has reportedly destroyed a man’s car and traumatized a 6-year-old in New York thus far among others.Galaxy Note7
Samsung and the Canadian government are working together to make sure Canadian consumers return their Galaxy Note7 units bought from August 19th to September 1st. Samsung has released an official statement, urging consumers to turn off their affected devices and wait for replacement units:

Samsung continues to ensure that consumer safety remains our top priority. We are working with Health Canada and our carrier and retail partners to alert Note7 users of the issue. We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note7s and exchange their devices through the Canadian Product Exchange.

As listed on the official Government of Canada website, the affected models are SM-N930WZKAXAC, SM-N930WZSAXAC, and SM-N930WZBAXAC, meaning all color configurations. According to the website, Samsung has so far received over 70 cases in the US and is taking measures to ensure that all of the 21,953 Galaxy Note7 units sold in Canada are returned safely.

So if you have purchased a Galaxy Note7 from August 19th to September 1st, turn it off and return it at the nearest store as soon as possible. Again, you can follow this link to register for a replacement product. Within 48 hours of registering, you will be contacted by Samsung for further instructions.

Register for the Canadian exchange program, and let us know when you receive your new Galaxy Note7!
